Unexpected Side Effects Of Eating Sunflower Seeds
By CIARA TURNER-EWERT
Whichever is your preference for eating the food, sunflower seeds are both a delicious and nutritious snack. Due to the seeds are notoriously rich in fats, proteins, vitamins, and minerals, sunflower seeds can provide many health benefits to eaters and may prevent certain diseases.
Sunflower seeds contain nutrients such as vitamin E and monounsaturated fats that help give the food its anti-inflammatory powers while zinc and selenium help ward off infections and promote immune cell production. The food may also lower systolic blood pressure and reduce "bad" LDL cholesterol in women with type 2 diabetes.
Besides their health benefits, sunflower seeds can offer energizing benefits with their rich levels of vitamin B and protein, while selenium can improve oxygen flow, as noted by WebMD. Expectant parents are also likely to find some phenomenal health perks because of sunflower seeds' essential prenatal vitamins,
such as zinc and vitamin E.
