Is Jennifer Aniston's 15-15-15 Workout
Plan Worth
The Hype?
By KIMBERLY SMITH
Jennifer Aniston has started exercising on a 15-15-15 routine. If you're wondering what that is exactly, it boils down to 15 minutes of spinning, 15 minutes of elliptical, and 15 minutes of running, which sounds easy enough, but is it worth all the hype?
Registered dietitian Albert Matheny says, “The idea of three different modalities and the fact that you're varying it up a bit is excellent,” adding that doing three things may be less intimidating. Certified personal trainer Mike Matthews agrees, saying that 45 minutes of cardio is a “good amount of exercise,” and doing it five to seven days a week is “an admirable goal” and a “sweet spot in terms of improving health.”
Yoga and Pilates instructor Ivory Howard also says that you can get the same results from splitting up the 45 minutes into three separate routines — one in the morning, one during the middle of the day, and one in the evening. Personal trainer Doug Sklar agrees, noting that 15-minute intervals are helpful for those who lack the motivation to exercise for 45 minutes.
