Greek Turkey Burger Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground turkey (thigh is preferred)
  • 1 cup frozen spinach, thawed
  • ⅓ cup kalamata olives, finely chopped
  • ⅓ cup feta, crumbled
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 burger buns
  • ½ cup tzatziki
  • 12 round slices of cucumber
  • ⅓ red onion, sliced into rings
  • handful of salad leaves
Directions
  1. Preheat the oven to 425 F.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the turkey, spinach, chopped olives and feta, cumin, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
  3. Form the mixture into 4 burger patties.
  4. Carefully press a shallow indentation into the center of each of the burger patties.
  5. Grease a baking tray with olive oil and place the burger patties on the tray.
  6. Cook for 10 minutes in the oven, then flip them over and cook for another 8 to 10 minutes on the other side.
  7. When the turkey burgers are cooked, remove them from the oven and assemble the burger.
  8. Slice a burger bun in half and add a spoonful of tzatziki, 3 slices of cucumber, a few onion slices, and a small handful of salad leaves. Top with a turkey burger patty.
  9. Serve with salad or a side of chips.
