Where Is Big Mouth Toothbrush From Shark Tank Season 14 Today?
Caring for your oral health starts with brushing twice daily with the right products. In fact, according to a 2024 OnePoll-Listerine survey cited by DentistryIQ, 76% of American consumers said they actively look for mouth care solutions to match their unique needs.
One of those solutions could be the Big Mouth Toothbrush. Invented by orthodontist Dr. Bobbi Peterson, the small tool enjoyed a national introduction in 2023 on season 14 of Shark Tank. Dr. Peterson's concept pitch was fairly straightforward: She created a toothbrush to give users the dentist-office-level side effects only an electric toothbrush can provide. (Read about some signs that you're using the wrong toothbrush.)
To achieve her dream of building a better toothbrush, Dr. Peterson made sure her innovation offered a bristled head that was twice as large as typical toothbrushes. She also ensured that it would have the rotational capabilities to efficiently and safely remove tooth surface debris.
According to Dr. Peterson, the decision to apply to Shark Tank would be a practical way to gain massive exposure, as well as other perks (via the American Association of Orthodontists). Said Peterson, "As a big fan of the show, I also knew that the Sharks provide mentoring and guidance and I knew that would be very helpful."
Dr. Peterson's gamble paid off. Investor Barbara Corcoran took the plunge and invested $150,000 in the Big Mouth Toothbrush. But has it transformed oral healthcare? Or has it become another flash-in-the-pan Shark Tank highlight?
An oral hygiene upgrade
Dr. Peterson's willingness to splash with sharks may have paid off. As a result, her Big Mouth Toothbrush received tremendous (and profitable) buzz. In fact, it reportedly took just 24 hours for Dr. Peterson's supply of Big Mouth Toothbrush inventory to sell out (via News 12). By 2025, the Big Mouth Toothbrush website boasts a number of toothbrushes and related tooth and mouth items, including tongue scrapers and cases. The original pink or white electric Big Mouth Toothbrush is no longer in production, but you can buy the 2.0 version instead.
The brush and other products can be purchased both online and at select partner locations in the states of New York, Iowa, Illinois, and Indiana. Strangely, Dr. Peterson's Philadelphia orthodontics practice, Aces Braces – Philadelphia, isn't mentioned as a place to purchase the Big Mouth Toothbrush. However, per the practice's website, the items are available there.
Evidence indicating startup stability
Per Crunchbase data as of March 2025, the company's growth score has remained steady since Dr. Peterson debuted in the tank. Still, the $150,000 offer from Corcoran has been the only investor funding round so far to boost the company's scalability.
What does Corcoran say about her investment? Virtually nothing, at least at this point. There's no evidence of any Big Mouth Toothbrush news on her website, and Dr. Peterson isn't listed among Corcoran's select lineup of the Shark Tank entrepreneurs she actively mentors. However, Corcoran has invested in more than 120 companies, and they're not all noted on her site. Consequently, the fact that the Big Mouth Toothbrush is being distributed and sold may be the most telling sign that it's still garnering consumer interest. Therefore, if you've investigated the pros and cons of manual versus electric toothbrushes and decide to choose the latter, you shouldn't have any trouble finding the Big Mouth Toothbrush.
