Pepto Bismol Or Dramamine? Health Digest Survey Finds People's Go-To OTC Nausea Remedy
That unwelcome sensation that warns us that vomiting may be imminent is known as nausea (via Medical News Today). Nausea can be brought on by a number of different things, some of which may be related to a health condition, while others may be due to external factors. Motion sickness, phobias, pregnancy, food poisoning, migraines, anxiety, stress, viral illnesses, and more can all induce a bout of nausea.
In some cases, nausea may indicate that immediate medical attention is needed, such as when accompanied by other symptoms including stiffness in the neck, fever, headache, difficulty breathing, arm pain, or vomiting. Those who have recently incurred a head injury and experience nausea will also want to seek emergency help. In the event that you experience repeat episodes of nausea that do not appear to be linked to any specific cause, be sure to consult with your physician. Yet for the occasional bout of queasiness, many people reach for over-the-counter (OTC) remedies for symptom relief. Offering five different answer choices, we asked 612 readers of Health Digest to share their preferred brand of OTC nausea medication.
